Build your own rifle!

Would you like to try gunsmithing on your own? Do you have a Mosin? Or do you want to build a new one?

We have a number of parts that can help you build a new rifle starting with your own Mosin without destroying or modifying it in any way. Or, alternatively, assemble an entirely new rifle by buying just a few extra parts!

Upfront - this is NOT a loophole to avoid standard firearm buying process. The barreled receiver combinations are FFL pieces, and will need to be transferred as such - with a full NICS check.

(*) This looks expensive, but the bolt body was $20, and bending it starts with $30 - not including shipping the parts back and forth. Most parts dealers charge $70+ for the bolt body, plus shipping, and they sell out almost instantaneously. For example, here and here.

You would use the parts from your existing Mosin: bolt (everything except the body), the trigger guard and magazine part, and the receiver screws. You will then drill and tap the receiver to mount the scope base, optionally cut the barrel to a shorter length and re-crown it, and reassemble the rifle in the new configuration.

This allows you to have an unmodified, original Mosin Nagant, and a great plinker/target/hunting rifle, and get a practical lesson in gunsmithing without the fear of damaging anything expensive.
