Red Star Scope Mount for AK or SKS
This is a new (old stock) scope mount that was originally designed for AK-47, but would really shine on an SKS. It is very similar to
PU mount used on sniper variation of Mosin Nagant, although no parts are actually interchangeable.
Unlike more common SKS scope mounts that attach to the receiver cover, this one mounts directly to the receiver, and therefore holds zero
significantly better.
The mount has 1" rings integrated, and a spare set of screws for them. It has significant adjustment capabilities for both windage
and elevation built in - I have not measured the angle, but it is degrees, not minutes. The construction is solid steel.
It comes with mounting instructions, factory packaging (which will be folded if we have to ship it to fit in small Priority Mail box),
a set of original factory mounting screws that are too large for the openings on the base, and 2 screws added by us that are more appropriate
for installation on an SKS.
The installation would require drilling and tapping the receiver and modifying the stock. The former would require a drill press,
the later can be easily done with any rotary tool.
