Open letter to our colleagues in gun industry

To: Dealers, Wholesalers, and Manufacturers of firearms and ammunition

Dear friends,

As you know, Seattle City Hall have positioned itself on the forefront of fight against gun rights in this country, and, by proxy, against your very existence.

They started by trying to ban guns in city parks.

They fired another salvo last year when they ran gun dealers out of town with their gun and ammunition "tax"[1], which made it impossible to sell guns in Seattle.

On this year's agenda? They are going after surplus market [2][3].

Hidden behind the words "responsibility" and "safety" is the relentless drive to get rid of guns, gun owners, and gun industry.

Seattle's City Hall "innovations" in gun control are very dangerous. Even though in the State of Washington we are protected by the state's Preemption Clause, and eventually all their initiatives are bound to fail in court, there are other localities where gun owners - and gun dealers - might not be so lucky. And they are watching.

But you know what? It turns out, City of Seattle needs us, the firearms industry, more than we need them. We can fight back.

Every year Seattle buys 50 guns to upgrade the ones used by its police force[3]. 50 guns is a drop in the bucket, less than that. A moderately sized gun store sells this much in a week.

Yet they presume that they can thumb their nose at tens of millions of responsible gun owners, dealers, distributors, manufacturers. They think they can dictate what we may or may not own, may or may not sell. What arrogance!

Enough is enough.

If you are a dealer, distributor, or a manufacturer who sells guns or ammunition to the City of Seattle, take a pledge to stop selling to City of Seattle until they stop pushing antigun agenda and repeal their egregious gun and ammunition "tax".

You will not lose much money, in the short term your customers will repay you manyfold for standing for their rights, and in the long term it helps preserve the job you love so much.

Add your pledge by emailing nogunsforseattle@preciseshooter.com.

Best regards,

Your friends and colleagues @ Precise Shooter
