Chinese Type 53 carbines

We have a few Chinese Type 53 rifles, which are versions of Russian M44. They were built from 1953 to the early sixties. Full details are here.

These rifles were very rare until last year. Century has imported some quantity recently, and this is a good time to buy!

We have two rifles that have been classified by Century as "good, cracked stocks". From what we can tell, stocks do have gouges, but no obvious cracks. The bluing is pretty decent, and the bores would qualify as "good" - they have light to moderate amount of pitting, but strong rifling.

Some time ago we took a sampling of similar rifles with various bore conditions from a previous shipping, and experimented with their accuracy. You can read the report here.

THIS PRODUCT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE

We also have one hand-select rifles that are in much better condition than most rifles from the recent import batch. They would be a great item for any collection. Please give us a call or drop by to take a closer look.

Hand-select rifles

The first rifle we have has been built in 1955.

Bore is shiny, easily within top 5% of the T53s we've seen. Wood and metal are also very decent. The trigger is very crisp and breaks cleanly.

The cleaning rod is missing. The receiver and butt plates match, the bolt and the floor place do not.

See detailed picture3 for this rifle here.

Does this look expensive? A note on pricing for military surplus and used firearms.

The second specimen has been built in 1954.

Bore condition is bright and shiny with tiny patches of cleaned out corrosion in the middle. It is in top 25% of the bores we've seen on these rifles. Wood and metal are also very decent. The trigger is very crisp and breaks cleanly.

The cleaning rod is missing. The floor plate matches, the bolt and the butt plate do not.
